ABOUT US
What's in a name? Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary achieved Mount Everest's first successful summit in 1953. Tenzing Norgay had been an agonising 254 metres from the top in an attempt the previous year and his expertise and guidance proved pivotal to getting to the top. He went on to help countless parties achieve this goal.
Tenzing as an individual embodies many guiding principles for our service: humility; we feel lucky when you entrust us to help build your team or guide your career path. Everest isn't renowned for being easy, so doing the hard yards is crucial to success. The treacherous Khumbu icefall changes on a daily basis as does the climate, so the hard work is underpinned with meticulous planning for each expedition. Tenzing's years in the Himalayas and on Chomolungma (Everest's Tibetan name) meant he knew the terrain better than anyone, and that local expertise was something he continually developed. Lastly he did it all with a smile: "You cannot be a good mountaineer, no matter how great your ability unless you are cheerful and have the spirit of a mountaineer."
